Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #212
Full disclosure - this is not a Cape photo or even one that I took. It was taken by someone out in CA as the Space Shuttle Endeavour paraded her way to her new home in LA last week. I saw Facebook posts all day from people I know in CA so excited to have caught a glimpse of Endeavour on her final voyage. Just one look at this group of CA school kids expresses that excitement and wonder better than any words. I love the photo and share their wonder.
The photo below was taken by a professional as the shuttle flew by the Hollywood sign. I'd say Endeavour's arrival in CA was up to Hollywood's standards of fabulous. Keep on rockin', Endeavour!

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #48
Here she is arriving in grand fashion to her new home. My parents were on the National Mall as Discovery flew in this morning for a few laps around the monuments to greet her fans before heading to Dulles and then the Air and Space Museum Annex. Dad got this awesome closeup shot.
It's a bittersweet day for NASA and all those who admired the space shuttle program. Happy to see Discovery fly once again but sad that it's for the last time. Welcome home, Discovery.
