Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #107

A final Strawberry Festival entry. This guy was my favorite parade participant. He seemed happy to be part of the festivities, and had the sweetest ride of all.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #106

We treated ourselves to these beauties at Riverbay Roadhouse after the Strawberry Festival. They were our first crabs of the year, and we were not disappointed. A little cider vinegar and a side of crab spice, and we were happy crab pickers.

Another shot from the Strawberry Festival. I liked it because it looks like a picture that could have come from just about any decade in the history of the Cape. What a wonderful beach we have!

I've heard discussion about removing the log that the kids enjoyed jumping from so much over the weekend (left side of photo). While I certainly would not want to see anyone injured, I'm weary of the hyper safe mentality that removes all hazards of any sort from our kids' paths. How will they ever learn to navigate the world? My kids have never even been on a real teeter totter. (Sigh)

Get out and enjoy our wonderful beach this summer and tell your kids to have fun jumping from the log while it lasts (after apprising them of all the potential hazards!).

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #104

It's a soggy one out there today. I poked my head out just long enough to get a picture of this drippy butterfly bush panicle. It is as eager for the sun to come back out as we are.

Another image from the Strawberry Festival this weekend - a group of kids hanging out down by the jetty at the entrance to the Little Magothy.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #102

Canoes and kayaks at Lake Claire ready for some summer fun on the Magothy. If you don't have one, you better buy a ticket for the ones being raffled off by the Goshen Farm Preservation Society. They are two beauties - just $5/ticket to win both and only 500 tickets will be sold. If you need a ticket, let me know. I have some. Even if you don't want or need the kayaks, your support for GFPS will be put to good use.
