Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #94

Another shot from that pretty sunrise yesterday. It appealed to me particularly on this June 2nd, 2012, as I turn 46 years old. I like to imagine the boardwalk as the years left ahead of me with a boardwalk of roughly equal length behind me, give or take a decade. I hope at the end of my journey (hopefully far in the distance if a little more in sight than 20 years ago) I will come to a nice bench with a loved one or two or three to keep me company and a view to compare to this one.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #93

From sunset at Fedex to sunrise at Lake Claire. It looked like a pretty one this morning, so I drove over to Lake Claire to get some pictures. I got a LOT of pictures, and I will share more over the next few days. What a pretty first day of June!

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #92

A lot of Cape soccer fans took advantage of the opportunity to attend the US Men's National Team versus Brazil soccer exhibition match or "friendly" yesterday at Fedex Field. Even though the Brazilians bested the US team, as expected, it was a beautiful evening to enjoy the beautiful game. The South Americans gave us a show on the field, but the heavens provided an even more spectacular one in the sky above the stadium. The beautiful game meets beautiful sunset.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #91

My neighbor's INSANE hydrangea. She planted this one long after I planted the ones in my yard, and it has put mine to shame. It LOVES its location. If she didn't cut it back, it would invade my yard like the blob - a pretty blob, though.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #90

A little Memorial Day revelry going on at the Lake Claire beach yesterday afternoon. I hear Sandy Point was turning people away at capacity. No such worries along our perfect strip of waterfront. How lucky are we?

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #89

On this Memorial Day 2012, I came across a little red and white on the blue of the Magothy. This was just outside the mouth of Deep Creek along the shores of Arnold. It was beautiful day to enjoy the holiday and remember those who have committed their lives to the protection of our country.

I hope all you Capers had a terrific Memorial Day weekend. My deepest thanks to those who have served and continue to serve our nation. Our gratitude cannot possibly repay the sacrifices that have been made by so many.

Cape Photo of the Day - Photo #88

So that new green marker that I noticed at the boat ramp a month or two ago has now drifted to the Arnold side of Deep Creek. Turns out it was not a new navigational marker at all, but just a stray one that was accidentally relocated. I hear tell it came from the Little Magothy, but I can neither confirm nor deny that piece of information. Anybody missing a green marker?
