My husband stretches his fishing season well into the winter by running down the Bay a little further south. He took this picture while out yesterday looking for some rockfish. He and his buddy only hooked one nice one that got away from them before they could get it in the boat, but who can complain when it's nearly 70 degrees out in December and looks like this.

I took this picture driving eastbound on the Bay Bridge last weekend before the storm (I was a passenger!). I'm hoping we get a few more days like this before the cold weather arrives in earnest.

The Love Point buoy on the eastern side of the shipping channel straight out the mouth of the Magothy. This picture was taken late in the afternoon just as a light line of clouds passed by. My husband is always thrilled when big rockfish are hanging out by "the LP". It means a minimum amount of fuel burned for maximum return on fishing.

I enjoyed an overnight in New York City as an early Mother's Day gift last night. I took a lot of nice pictures - mostly of Central Park. The heart and soul of New York is full of lovely scenes, most of which I encountered by making wrong turns and getting lost. I wandered here and there for an hour or so yesterday afternoon. Then this morning, I went for a jog around the Park before hopping the subway to Penn station for the train ride home.

For all the lovely sites I saw in my almost 24 hours in New York, none were as welcome to me as this view of the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay as the train crossed over the Susquehanna approaching Havre de Grace. I loved my brief glimpse of the hustle and bustle of city life, but this glimpse of the Bay is what swells my heart. Good to be home.
